9:00 AM - 3:00 PM

Addison Academic Center -

Lettie Pate Evans Room

Presenter:

The Rev. Robert Heaney, Ph.D., D. Phil.

Registration Fee: $40.00

We are part of creation, with a particular charge to care for the whole interconnected world that supports all life.  What are we learning about more intentional and effective stewardship?  How can God’s beloved, as followers of Jesus, engage in loving God, self, and all our neighbors more whole-heartedly?

We’ll use a variety of learning styles and consider a spectrum of possibilities – the human mind and heart, hands and feet, voice and appetite; the life-giving river, cloud, wind, and sun, kitchen and creative garden around us; the gifts and lives of neighbors near and far, human and not.

Come and see, hear, taste, and imagine how to live the greater love and more abundant life Jesus promised to all.

Offered as part of the Immanuel Chapel Dedicatory Year of Celebration.

How World Christianity is Changing World Mission
The world is a changed and changing place. To analyze such change independent of religion and theology is to understand little. Dr. Heaney will identify major themes of religious change in the twentieth and twenty-first century and invite participants into considering how themes such as independence, migration and pluralism shape Christian practice and Christian belief. Refreshments and lunch included in the fee.
