Civil Rights, Justice and Inclusion
In this course we will consider the experience of The Episcopal Church (TEC) during the eras of the African American Civil Rights movement, as well as the struggle to accept women as leaders in every order of ministry. Additionally, we will consider the experience and witness of sexual (GLBT) and cultural (Asian American, Native/Indigenous and Hispanic/Latino) minority communities within TEC. Participants in the course will gain a richer appreciation and understanding of the experiences which have influenced some of TEC's present realities while better articulating personal thoughts and questions about the life and mission of the Church.
